Is there any male singer more underrated and overlooked than Bill Henderson? This is one of "the" jazzman's all time favorites, right up there with Johnny Hartman. This LP, which has finally found it's way to CD is from the old Vee-Jay label, which Henderson made many recordings for. It features unusual groupings on each track including the MJT+3 guys doing "Sleepy", another group with Clark Terry, Snooky Young, Jimmy Cleveland and other outstanding soloists, a group with Gildo Mahones, Frank Wess and Charlie Fowlkes, and still another with Eddie Harris and Eddie Higgins. Great stuff. $21.00 postpaid.
